Regular cleaning
Use this for your regular cleaning.
- Vacuum tiles (or dry microfibre mop) to remove loose grit from the surface
- Clean traffic areas using a damp microfibre flat mop (clean water only – no chemicals).
- Spot clean any spills, marks or stains using an alkaline cleaning agent such as Slique Heavy Duty chemical. Make sure dilution instructions are followed carefully.
- Rinse lightly with CLEAN water to remove chemical residues, and dry using an old towel – do not leave to dry on the floor.
Periodic cleaning
Use this for periodic cleaning, or when there is a build-up not removed by daily care.
- Vacuum tiles (or dry microfibre mop) to remove loose grit from the surface
- Machine scrub all grout lines and tile surfaces using a solution of tile cleaner suitable for your tiles, such as Slique Heavy Duty chemical. Leave chemical solution to dwell on the surface for a few minutes before agitating by machine. Use an auto-scrubber if available, or otherwise use a slow speed polishing machine and wet vac
- Repeat for heavily stained areas if required.
- Rinse off using clean water. Extract off the floor using a wet vac. DO NOT leave to dry on the surface.
- Machine buff polished or matt tiles using a 300 – 450 rpm polisher with pad drive-base and clean white buffing pads.
Note: the appearance of traffic lanes or wear patterns in the surface finish usually will require specialised care to recover (depending on the actual stone), and the services of a professional stone restorer /maintainer such as Slique may be required.
