Unsealed terracotta can be very absorbent and any contamination can penetrate the tile almost immediately. Our deep cleaning process followed by sealing with a high quality penetrating sealer will prevent most stains from occurring. As an alternative, the tiles can be also be treated with a surface coating which will provide a ‘semi-gloss' to ‘gloss' finish that will provide a full barrier layer for the tile and enhance its finish. |

| 7 | I have an outside area with sandstone tiles, but they get dirty all the time and are badly stained from food and drink spills; is there anything you can do to make cleaning easier? | |
Yes, we can help make daily cleaning easier. Sandstone tiles are very porous, and being relatively soft they absorb stains and liquids very easily. Our deep cleaning process will remove the stains, and we would seal the wet area with a high quality sealer to prevent the ingress of stains and water. After these processes regular cleaning should be maintained. Light scrubbing with neutral detergent and hosing off with water should remove the majority of the dirt easily. |

| 8 | I've renovated and I would like to know if I could change the colour of the tile grout to match my new décor? | |
Yes, you can change the colour of your existing grout to match your new décor. We would deep clean the tiles and grout first, and then re-colour the grout to your colour preference. |

| 9 | I've had marble tiles installed on the floor and walls in a wet area and now I am seeing stains appear around the edge of each tile and they look discoloured; is there anything you can do about this? | |
Yes, we can help. The effect you refer to occurs when moisture penetrates the grout and gets into the side edge of the tile, becoming noticeable on the surface of the tile as a ‘dark stain'. This can be remedied by the application of a grout seal product to the grout itself. This will prevent the penetration of moisture, along with the application of a high quality sealer to the marble tile itself. |

| 10 | I've got extensive slate tiling, but some parts are dull and they always look grubby. I've tried all sorts of cleaning detergents with little success; are you able to provide a consultation? | |
Yes, we can provide a consultation. We will assess the areas where you have slate tiles, analyse the current state of your tiles and come up with the best solution customised for you. We will then provide a quotation detailing the cost involved, accompanied with a full specification of the work we will do and the products we will use. This service is at no cost to you. |

| 11 | I have been told that I should acid wash my floors for stains; do you provide this service? | |
Yes we are able to acid wash your floors, but as this is a severe treatment that can age the tiles and damage grout we prefer to use less stringent methods first. Only if other methods are ineffective will we consider acid washing. Acid can also have severe effects on different types of stone that can be irreparable, so should only be done after careful testing. |
