Tile Coating / Stone Coating for ultimate protection
Just like your skin, stone and tiles have pores. The size of its pores, their orientation, how well they are networked and the stone's finish are important contributing factors to its overall absorbency.
A Slique Barrier-Coat Polishing treatment provides the highest level of protection for stone or tiles by completely isolating the surface from damaging spills and wear. As well as providing optimum protection, coatings can also be applied for other reasons: coatings can improve aesthetics by adding shine; and they can sometimes even conceal defects or blemishes in surfaces.
The coating will wear down over time (the way the stone or tile would if the barrier wasn't there to protect it), however it is easy to maintain and reapply.

Stone Coating / Stone Polish
Stone Coating (or applying a Stone Polish) is common in commercial environments or areas with high traffic flows, as the stone coating prevents track marks from wearing the stone down. In the main walkways the stone coating can easily be ‘topped up’ without affecting the rest of the coating, keeping the finish consistent and the surface well-protected.
Marble and limestone kitchen benchtops (and sometimes floors) are also ideal candidates for stone coating to eliminate the risk of etch damage from acidic spills or drips. In some cases where high-risk is involved (for example marble bar tops in sports clubs) a more permanent type of protection and coating system may be appropriate.
Tile Coating / Tile Polish
Tile Coating, or applying a Tile Polish, is sometimes used on porcelain and ceramic tiles that may be slightly porous or require an enhanced finish to improve maintainability. This requires a highly specialized type of coating system – common ‘off the shelf’ commercial coatings will not provide an effective long term solution.
